acatech consists of three organs: the Executive Board, the General Assembly and the Senate. The General Assembly determines the objectives and working method of the academy and sends five representatives to the Executive Boards.

The Senate consists of well-known personalities from economy, science and politics. The Senate advises the academy on strategic matters and, in particular, pools input from the business sector. The Senate Committee determines two members of the Executive Board.

The Presidents and the Chairman of the Senate

The presidents of acatech are Reinhard Hüttl and Henning Kagermann. Chairman of the Senate is Roman Herzog, the former President of the Federal Republic of Germany.
