Description

This topical network deals with the promotion and education of young scientists and engineers, following a systematic approach from early-years education to techno-socialisation in secondary schools and other youth organisations as well as to tertiary education and the labour market, including the continuing professional development of qualified engineers.

Currently, the focus is on a concerted effort to identify the primary reasons for the foreseeable shortage in skilled professionals and to develop effective measures to promote an interest in technology and a career choice for the sciences and engineering. We also concern ourselves with the needs of higher-level engineering education.

In addition, the Knowledge element of the network examines questions relating to knowledge maintenance and knowledge transfer.
