Description
The flow of passenger and freight traffic is vital for economic growth and social mobility, but its importance receives relatively little recognition. The Mobility topical network therefore deals with the factors that influence and structure traffic in terms of its social environment. These include, in addition to traffic data, predictions of demographic development, economic growth, technological changes and energy prices. Further areas of discussion in the network comprise infrastructure maintenance, traffic management, innovative vehicle engineering and financing options for public transport.
Topical network associates who are not academic members:
Dr. Hans-Jürgen Boßmeyer (BMW AG)
Dr. Hans Hubschneider, Dr. Christoph Walther (PTV AG)
Dr. Claudia Langowsky, Wolfgang Schwenk (VDV)
Dr. Markus Pennekamp (DB AG)
Dr. Hans-Jürgen Stauss, Jens Hoffmann (VW AG)
Hermann Straetmans (Siemens AG)
Thomas Waschke (Daimler AG)

Furthermore, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs (BMVBS) are consulted on project design of the topical network.
